The Mazingira Kamili Project
Mazingira Kamili translates to the perfect environment. SEAM, which is Self-Education And Mentorship initiative, is part of our attempt to create a whole new world where children and adolescents from a low-income community in Kenya, can feel safe and included.
The project was created by Clinical Psychologist Simon D.M Karanja, and developed with the help of local NGO COHESU (Community Health Support).
This space is meant to cater to the youth’s mental health, and provide access to educational material they may not otherwise find in their conventional education system.
SEAM was built as a library from the ground up, where participants can learn life skills that help them confront and deal with their immediate real-world problems, rather than the abstract knowledge that may not serve them until later on in life, if so. To become a part of this experimental project, please BUY one or all of our BOOKS or ART from our Website and help this amazing initiative reach its full potential.
