Casanova – A College Tale

(4 customer reviews)

$2.45

This is a tragic, romantic comedy, in which an innocent young man goes out into the world and learns about life and love. He is soon bombarded by experiences that see him slowly turn cynical, and ultimately into a ‘player’ who is trying to cope in this new world of freedom.

However, at the end of it all, he is reminded that the universe truly is an indifferent place.

  1. Susan [πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺ]

This book really spoke to me. Even though it was written from a male perspective, I really connected with main character’s story. Heartbreak is a universal experience, so it’s no wonder there were moments it felt like this was my story. The fact that the poetry wasn’t hard to digest is a plus for me.

  2. Thamani [πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦]

This book is full of innuendo that I think was meant to hide a very deep story from judgmental eyes. I love Simon’s strategic writing and how he was able to bring up so many emotions in me as I read. I enjoyed how easy it was to read through and found myself going through it again and again, which made me notice how the story and the feelings that come from reading it, morphed into something different every time I reread it. Weirdly satisfying, I love it!

  3. Emily Nova [πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ]

Fascinating book. I loved the writing style and how the writer weaved into this romantic, comical tragedy, some of the best songs and movies from my younger days. I found myself going back to the music, which made me think of the book and story with an oddly nostalgic eye. A truly heart felt story and a must read!

  4. James Kimani [πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺ]

At first I thought the book was interesting but a bit shallow. But then there were a few phrases used by Simon in the book that made me scratch my head, and as I did my research, I realised that this book might be layered like an onion. There’s some very deep symbolism used in this story, that I bet 99% of the people who read it won’t catch onto. There are breadcrumbs that can take you on a tangent if you choose to explore more. Nevertheless, I can safely say they won’t need to in order to enjoy the simple story of love and loss.
